Congresswoman Adams Statement Following Calls for Increased Security at Shalom Park
Washington, D.C.—Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) released the following statement after community members at Shalom Park called for increased security measures to combat threats received earlier this year.
“Following threats made to Shalom Park earlier this year, our community members feel that their safety is at risk. This is extremely troubling to me,” said Congresswoman Adams. “The men, women, and children who visit Shalom Park daily should do so without concern. We are a nation built on freedom of religion and Anti-Semitism has no place in our society. I hope the public will join me in continuing to stand in solidarity with our Jewish brothers and sisters.”
Following a second threat made to Shalom Park last month, Congresswoman Adams called the Executive Director of the Jewish Federation of Charlotte, Sue Worrell, to offer her continued support.
