Congresswoman Adams Statement Following the Failure to Repeal NC HB2

Charlotte, NC—Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) released the following statement after the North Carolina General Assembly failed to repeal HB2.

“I am disappointed but not surprised that the Republican led General Assembly failed to uphold their end of the bargain and repeal HB2 in full” said Congresswoman Adams. “North Carolina Republicans continue to push a rigid ideology on the people of our state with no regard for the harm done to our citizens or the damage to our economy.

“Every day that this law exists is a day that discrimination is codified against our neighbors, family members, and friends. For their sake and the sake of future generations, we must work together to build a state that welcomes all who chose to call it home.”
