Washington, DC — Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) issued the following statement on the introduction of H.R. 5, the Equality Act. The bill amends the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to protect LGBTQ Americans from discrimination.
Washington DC – Today, Rep. Adams joined fellow Members of Congress to co-sponsor H.R. 6, the Dream and Promise Act of 2019 to protect our nation’s Dreamers, as well as our Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) holders, allowing them to contribute fully to North Carolina’s communities and our country while providing a pathway to citizenship.
Washington, DC — Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) issued the following statement on the passage of H.R. 8, the Bipartisan Background Check Bill. The bill requires universal background checks on all gun sales, including those sold at gun shows, online and by private vendors.
Washington DC- Today, Rep Adams (NC-12) will be honored by Governor Cooper and First Lady Kristin Cooper for her advocacy for the arts. The honor will be in celebration of Black History Month as the Governor and First Lady will be celebrating African American musicians and artists from North Carolina.
