Press Release
Queen City Nerve: "If there's an issue in which ordinary citizens' rights, well-being and safety are at stake, chances are Adams has been there to take a stand."

CHARLOTTE – Yesterday, Queen City Nerve released its "Best in the Nest 2020" list, naming Congresswomen Alma S. Adams, Ph.D. (NC-12) as the critics' choice for "Best Politician."

"If there's an issue in which ordinary citizens' rights, well-being and safety are at stake, chances are Adams has been there to take a stand," wrote Queen City Nerve.

“I am humbled to be honored as Queen City Nerve’s Best Politician of 2020,” said Congresswoman Adams. “What we accomplished this year wouldn’t have been possible without our hard-working team, as well as all of the constituents and civic leaders who work with us to create a shared vision for One Meck. However, this year’s work won’t be done until we pass meaningful COVID relief for North Carolina families: something we must do before Congress goes home for the year.”

The article highlighted many of the bills Congresswoman Adams introduced this year, including the Right to PROTEST Act, the Kira Johnson Act, the Closing the Meal Gap Act, and the Local Farmer Act.

Congresswoman Alma Adams represents North Carolina’s 12th Congressional District (Charlotte) and serves as Vice Chair of the House Committee on Agriculture. Additionally, she serves on the House Financial Services Committee and the House Education & Labor Committee, where she serves as Chair of the Workforce Protections Subcommittee. In 2015, she founded the Adams Hunger Initiative to address food insecurity across Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, and the 12th Congressional District.
