Adams Warns of National Security Concerns Following Trump’s Withdrawal from Iran Nuclear Agreement

Press Release

Charlotte, N.C.—Today, Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) released the following statement after President Trump announced he will withdraw the United States from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

“President Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Iran Nuclear Agreement endangers our national security and harms American credibility around the world,” said Congresswoman Adams. “Since its passage, Iran’s compliance with the deal has been verified ten times. While the deal is not perfect, it is working and keeping America and our allies safe from a nuclear-armed Iran. President Trump’s haphazard approach to foreign policy continues to threaten our international relationships and embolden our aggressors. For the sake of our national security, President Trump must stop these political stunts and uphold our commitments to the international community.”
