Congresswoman Adams Applauds Today’s Decision to Put an End to Voter Suppression in North Carolina
Charlotte, N.C.—Congresswoman Alma Adams released the following statement after the United States Supreme Court refused to hear an appeal of the North Carolina voter identification case effectively terminating the law.
“I applaud the Supreme Court’s decision that brings an end to this discriminatory and unconstitutional voter ID law in North Carolina,” said Congresswoman Adams. “As representatives, we should be working together to increase access to the ballot box by expanding early voting and allowing automatic and same-day voter registration. The right to vote is the hallmark of our democracy and it is the responsibility of all elected officials to defend any challenge to this sacred right.”
