Congresswoman Adams Votes Against Efforts to Attack Women’s Healthcare
Washington, D.C.—Today, Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) voted against H.J.Res. 43 to protect women’s access to healthcare and preventative services.
“House Republicans just stripped millions of Americans of vital Healthcare,” said Congresswoman Adams. “Last year, more than four million people nationwide had HIV testing, cancer screenings and other preventative care funded by Title X grants. I could not, in good faith and conscience, support this reckless measure.
“Gutting Title X is another thinly veiled attempt to rollback women’s choice. Republicans have once again put their political agenda ahead of the needs of millions of middle and low income women and their families. First the ACA and now Title X, House Republicans are determined to make America sick again. The war on women must end-our health depends upon it.”
