Congresswoman Adams Applauds Today’s Decision by the North Carolina Federal Appeals Court to Strike Down the State’s Voter ID Law
July 29, 2016
CHARLOTTE, NC — Congresswoman Alma S. Adams released a statement following the federal appeals court ruling on North Carolina’s voter identification law:
“I commend the Court for today's decision. The right to vote is the hallmark of our Democracy and we must challenge any attempts to roll back this sacred right. Since I was in the State House I have fought to block this unnecessary and discriminatory voter ID law which has done nothing, but disenfranchise voters all across North Carolina. Today, I am proud to see justice finally served. Now, Congress must take immediate action to restore the Voting Rights Act.”
