Rep. Adams Responds to Supreme Court Decision in Gerrymandering Case

Washington, DC – Congresswoman Alma S. Adams (NC-12) issued the following statement on the Supreme Court's ruling that partisan gerrymandering claims are beyond the reach of the Court.

"The Supreme Court got it wrong. Gerrymandering is undemocratic and undermines the voice of the people. We can't continue to let politicians draw legislative districts that allow them to choose their voters. We need to ensure that in North Carolina, and across the country, the power belongs to the electorate. It's time to take politicians out of the process and establish independent commissions that will draw fair maps."
