WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congresswoman Alma S. Adams, Ph.D. (D, NC-12), released the following statement on the announcement by U.S. Secretary of Housing & Urban Development Marcia Fudge, that she will step down this month.

“Marcia Fudge has been an extraordinary Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. The writing is on the wall (and under the roofs): Millions more Americans are housed, finding access to credit, and more homes are being built in America than anytime in fifty years. Marcia has conducted her efforts with a focus on fairness and equity, basing her work on the belief that a home is core to the American dream. President Biden demonstrated his eye for talent when he chose her for the job. I’m proud to call her my friend and colleague, and a CBC Member for life.

"My best wishes on your retirement, Madame Secretary.”
