Adams Response to Russian Facebook Ads Targeting North Carolina

Charlotte, N.C.—Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) released the following statement in response to the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence's decision to release over 3,000 Facebook advertisements created by Russian entities and used to target Americans leading up to the 2016 election.

"The release of more than 3,000 Russian-linked ads that targeted 11.4 million Americans, including some in North Carolina, confirms the need for Special Counsel Mueller's investigation. We must get a complete understanding of Russian meddling in our elections and its consequences," said Congresswoman Adams. "We cannot allow American's real concerns and passionate beliefs to be exploited by fake accounts designed by foreign agents to drive a wedge between us. I will continue to closely monitor this investigation and I urge my Republican colleagues to take swift action to protect the integrity of Special Counsel Mueller's probe."
