Adams Applauds Defeat of Republican Farm Bill
May 18, 2018
Washington, D.C.—Today, Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12), a member of the House Committee on Agriculture, released the following statement after the U.S. House of Representatives failed to pass H.R. 2 the Agriculture and Nutrition Act of 2018, commonly known as the Republican farm bill.
"Today's vote is a win for working families and American farmers," said Congresswoman Adams. "This heartless bill would have taken food off the tables of seniors, veterans, and children. It was so cruel that House Republicans failed to get the votes within their own caucus to pass it. It's time we return to regular order to craft a new bipartisan measure that invests in our farmers and supports families who depend on SNAP."
