Adams Celebrates Biden Nomination of King

If confirmed by the Senate, she will be the first Black woman to serve North Carolina in this role.

CHARLOTTE – Today,Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) released the following statement celebrating President Joe Biden's nomination of Dena King to serve as United States Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina, which includes Charlotte and Mecklenburg County:

"I congratulate Dena King on this history-making achievement. If confirmed by the Senate, she will be the first Black woman to serve North Carolina in this role. Ms. King is a superbly qualified attorney, an HBCU graduate, and a dedicated public servant. I urge the Senate to confirm her without delay."

King currently serves as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina, a role she previously held in the Eastern District of North Carolina. King is a graduate of North Carolina State University and the North Carolina Central University School of Law.
