Adams Condemns President Trump's Removal of Troops from Syria

Washington, D.C.–Congresswoman Alma S. Adams, Ph.D. (NC-12), released the following statement on President Trump's removal of troops from Syria.

"On Monday, October 7, 2019, President Trump made the fateful decision to withdraw United States troops from northern Syria, leaving our Kurdish allies vulnerable to Turkish aggression. The President's actions are profoundly irresponsible and troubling. His choices continue to undermine our national security and put the lives of innocent people at risk,"said Congresswoman Alma Adams. "The Kurds have been our most reliable partner in the fight against ISIS. The President's decision reflects his flawed decision-making and another betrayal of our most important alliances. His actions send the dangerous message to our allies and our foes that the United States is no longer as good as its word.
