Adams Joins Local Restauranteurs for Small Business Discussion

August 16, 2017

Charlotte, NC – Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) released the following statement after participating in a roundtable with local restaurant owners at Bonterra, hosted by the North Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association and the National Restaurant Association. North Carolina's 12th District is home to more than 1,700 eating and drinking establishments, employing 33,631 people throughout the District.

"The culinary industry is key to continued economic growth in Mecklenburg County," said Congresswoman Adams. "I am pleased to join the North Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association and the National Restaurant Association to hear from small business owners in our community. Whether it's issues surrounding health care, food waste, or farm to table offerings, we need to ensure that government is working with our small business owners to support them as they continue to grow our local economy."

"On behalf of the North Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association, we thank Congresswoman Adams for taking time to meet with restaurateurs from across the district today. Opportunities for direct dialogue with our representatives in Congress are an important venue to voice our concerns on a number of issues including health care, efforts to reduce food waste and agricultural issues," said Lynn Minges, President & CEO, North Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association.
