Adams Opposes Fifth GOP Stop-Gap Spending Measure

February 6, 2018

Washington, D.C.—Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) released the following statement after opposing the fifth Republican-led continuing resolution of this fiscal year.

"With just two legislative days left to fund the government, President Trump continues to display gross incompetence by calling for another government shutdown while refusing to work with congress to pass a long term funding bill," said Congresswoman Adams. "We are more than four months into the fiscal year and are still governing from crisis to crisis. It's past time to end this shockingly irresponsible way of governing and work together to raise the budget caps and finalize a spending bill that funds the government for the remainder of the year. Until then, I cannot in good conscience, support another stop-gap measure."
