Adams' Statement on H. Res 124, Rejecting President Trump’s Ban on Transgender Individuals Serving in the U.S. Military

March 28, 2019

Washington, DC — Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) issued the following statement after voting for the resolution rejecting the Trump Administration's discriminatory ban preventing transgender individuals from serving in the Armed Forces.

"Donald Trump's ban on transgender Americans serving in our military is not reflective of our values. I was proud to cast my vote rejecting this ban. Every brave servicemember willing to put their life on the line for the country deserves the right to serve, our respect, and our gratitude. I stand with every single transgender service member and thank them for their commitment to our nation."
