Adams Statement on Ousting of Secretary Tillerson

Washington, D.C.—Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) released the following statement this morning after President Trump fired Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and announced the nomination of Mike Pompeo as the next Secretary of State:
"This is a pivotal time for our national security as President Trump prepares to meet with North Korea, the Russian threat continues, and key ambassadorships remain empty. It's shocking that the President would choose this time to dismiss the Secretary of State and replace him with someone without any foreign policy experience," said Congresswoman Adams. "Chaos among our nation's leadership may make for good TV ratings, but it's dangerous for foreign policy."
