Adams Statement on the Passage of a Continuing Resolution
Washington, D.C.—Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) released the following statement after the House of Representatives passed a one week Continuing Resolution to continue funding the government through May 5, 2017.
"Our state and local leaders made it clear, Continuing Resolutions are bad for Mecklenburg County. They create great uncertainty; putting major transportation and community programs at risk," said Congresswoman Adams. "Seven months into the fiscal year our Republican led Congress has recklessly spent more time trying to repeal the Affordable Care Act then they have on passing a budget. While I did support today's measure, I cannot in good faith and conscious continue to support such a haphazard approach. It is time that we move forward and get to work on a passing a clean, long-term budget that works for all of America's families."
