Adams Statement on Passing of Congresswoman Jackie Walorski of Indiana and Two Members of Her Staff

Washington, D.C. (August 3, 2022) – Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) issued the following statement after deaths of Congresswoman Jackie Walorski of Indiana and two members of her staff in a tragic car accident:

“Today is a sad day for the United States House of Representatives. My heartfelt condolences go out to the family, friends, and constituents of my colleague Jackie Walorski, as well as the families and friends of her staff members Zachery Potts and Emma Thompson. Our service in Congress is made possible by the long hours and tireless dedication of our professional staff, so I am heartbroken to hear the accident took the lives of three members of our Congressional community.

"My prayers are with Jackie’s husband Dean, her family, her congressional staff, and her community tonight. I hope they take some solace in the knowledge that the hard work and kindness of Congresswoman Walorski, Emma, and Zachery will continue to make a difference long after their souls are at rest."
