"Senator Burr’s decision to step down from his Chairmanship is the right decision for the integrity of the Congress"
Washington – Today, Congresswoman Alma S. Adams, Ph.D. (NC-12) released the following statement on Senator Richard Burr's decision to step down as chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee:
“When I voted to impeach Donald Trump for high crimes and misdemeanors, I had all of the evidence I needed that he had betrayed his oath and his country. As of right now, I do not have all of the facts in Senator Burr’s case. I don’t want to have to come back to you, hat in hand, and say I got it wrong," said Congresswoman Adams. “However, Senator Burr’s decision to step down from his Chairmanship is the right decision for the integrity of the Congress. There should be a full, thorough investigation of these serious allegations."
Congresswoman Alma Adams represents North Carolina’s 12th Congressional District (Charlotte) and serves as Vice Chair of the House Committee on Agriculture. Additionally, she serves on the House Financial Services Committee and the House Education & Labor Committee, where she serves as Chair of the Workforce Protections Subcommittee.
