Adams’ Statement on the Shooting at UNC Charlotte

Washington, DC - Congresswoman Alma S. Adams released the following statement on the shooting at UNC Charlotte that left two dead, and four others injured.

"I am profoundly devastated by the shooting at UNC Charlotte. It's heartbreaking that this tragedy should occur on the last day of classes, during a time when students are preparing to graduate, and looking toward their futures.

Our community has seen too much life lost to senseless gun violence. I'm heading home from Washington, DC to stand with our city in support of UNCC. As a mother and grandmother, my heart aches for those who have lost their loved ones. My prayers are with everyone affected by this unimaginable heartbreak."
