Adams Statement on Votes for Border Security
February 15, 2019
"Today, I voted for the bipartisan spending deal reached by House and Senate negotiators after 3 weeks of serious discussions. While this measure isn't perfect and I have concerns with some aspects of the bill, ultimately it was the only path forward to preventing another disastrous shutdown. The American people deserve a functional government that meets its obligations and is not constantly on the brink of crisis. As such, I am deeply troubled by and vehemently opposed to the President's threats to declare a state of emergency. The American taxpayers will not pay for an ineffective and inefficient wall or President Trump's manufactured emergency at the border." said Congresswoman Adams.
