Adams Supports Mandatory Sexual Harassment Training in Congress
Washington, D.C.—Congresswoman Alma S. Adams (NC-12) released the following statement after H.Res. 630– Requiring each Member, officer, and employee of the House of Representatives to complete a program of training in workplace rights and responsibilities each session of each Congress, and for other purposes passed under suspension of the rules. Rep. Adams is an original cosponsor of H. Res. 630.
"There must be a zero tolerance policy when it comes to sexual harassment. This resolution is a long overdue first step to address sexual harassment on Capitol Hill but Congress must do more," said Congresswoman Adams. "I'll be participating in a sexual harassment training hosted by the Congressional Black Caucus tomorrow and will continue to press for increased transparency and accountability. We must ensure that everyone feels safe from harassment in the workplace."
