Advisory: Rep. Adams Hosts Virtual Women’s Health Care Event

CHARLOTTE (March 16, 2023) – The Office of Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) will host a Women’s History Month Event entitled“Women’s Health: What You Should Know” on Tuesday, March 21 at 11 AM EDT on Zoom. The webinar and panel discussion will address what women should know about their health and wellness. The event will specifically address maternal health, breast cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and the other critical health issues American women face.

“This Women’s History Month, it’s important to talk about how our health and our history have intertwined,” said Congresswoman Alma Adams, co-founder and co-chair of the Black Maternal Health Caucus. “Right now, women face a complicated health care environment. For the first time in 50 years, American women no longer have the Constitutional guarantee of bodily autonomy. Instead of moving in the right direction, maternal mortality rates for American women have increased over the past 20 years. Inflation is having an impact on the cost of care and the quality of nutrition. Women are facing all of these challenges and more, so our office is working to deliver resources to our constituents who need help to get the care they need.”

Dr. Charlene Green, MD, President of Old North State Medical Society will serve as the emcee and facilitator for the event.Doctors from multiple disciplines are expected to participate.
