Congresswoman Adams Named Ranking Member Of Small Business Subcommittee On Oversight

More than 1.5 Million North Carolinians are Employed by Small Businesses

Washington, DC - Congresswoman Alma S. Adams (D-NC12) has been named the Ranking Member for the House Small Business Subcommittee on Investigations, Oversight, and Regulations. This is Congresswoman Adams' first committee leadership position in the 114th Congress.

"Small businesses are the drivers of our economy," said Congresswoman Adams. "I look forward to serving as the Ranking Member for the Subcommittee on Investigations, Oversight and Regulations. I plan to use this position to ensure our small businesses are afforded an opportunity to not only survive but to thrive and that government programs are running effectively and efficiently to support America's small businesses."

The House Small Business Subcommittee on Investigations, Oversight and Regulations has oversight of the management of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). They also oversee the effectiveness and efficiency of federal programs that affect small businesses and review current regulations placed on small businesses.

According to the Small Business Administration, there are more than 800,000 small businesses in North Carolina that employ more than 1.5 million North Carolinians.
