Congresswoman Adams & Other NC Reps Place Friendly Wager With Seattle Congressman, Eagerly Awaits Gift Basket Of Washington State Goods

January 15, 2016

Washington, DC Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) is joining Congressmen Robert Pittenger (NC-09) and Patrick McHenry (NC-10) in a friendly wager on the Carolina Panthers-Seattle Seahawks NFL playoff game with Congressman Jim McDermott (WA-07), whose district includes Seattle. Following the Panthers’ defeat of the Seattle Seahawks, Congressman Jim McDermott (WA-07) will present Representatives Adams, Pittenger and McHenry with a basket of Washington State treats, including salmon and Theo’s chocolate.

"I’ll be saving a little room for salmon and chocolate next week after our beloved Panthers pound the Seattle Seahawks,” said Congresswoman Adams. “I’ll provide a dozen hot North Carolina Krispy Kreme doughnuts if it doesn’t go our way, but I’m confident in our team. I look forward to meeting the Panthers at the White House after they go all the way. Keep pounding Panthers!”

“For most of Sunday afternoon last week, I was brainstorming what treats the Minnesota delegation might have to offer,” said Congressman Pittenger, referring to the Vikings near defeat of the Seahawks. “But it will be nice to get some payback on the Seahawks after last year. With a 15-1 record, including a victory over the Seahawks on their home field, I knew we’d have to offer something really sweet and juicy to find any takers. So in the highly unlikely scenario of a Panthers loss, I’ve agreed to send Congressman McDermott some of North Carolina’s famous Cheerwine soft drink and Bojangles’ chicken.”
