Congresswoman Adams Releases Statement on the Passing Congressman Mark Takai

WASHINGTON, DC — Congresswoman Alma S. Adams (NC-12) released the following statement after announcement of the passing of Congressman K. Mark Takai (HI-1):

“I am saddened by the news of Congressman Mark Takai’s passing. Today I lost more than a colleague from the House Small Business Committee and a Member of the freshman class in Congress—I lost a friend. Congressman Takai was a dedicated public servant, advocating for hard-working families and small businesses not only in his district, but all across our nation. As a veteran of the National Guard, he served his country proudly for over a decade. He brought that same dedication to Congress.  Mark was a great friend and will truly be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife Sami, their children and Hawaii’s First Congressional District.”
