Congresswoman Adams’ Statement on the Passing of Congressman Donald Payne, Jr.

CHARLOTTE – Congresswoman Alma S. Adams, Ph.D. (D-NC-12) released the following statement on the passing of her friend and colleague, Congressman Donald Payne, Jr. (NJ-10).
“Today, we lost a great leader, a tireless advocate for the people of New Jersey, and a dear friend. In all that he did, Congressman Donald Payne, Jr. worked to leave our Nation better than he found it. He was the first Member to attend my Mad Hatter event, and, from my first day in Congress, Donald was quick to offer a helping hand and a listening ear. I am eternally grateful for his years of unwavering support. As we mourn this devastating loss, I join my colleagues in lifting up his wife, children, and all the individuals whom he impacted in prayer.”
