Congresswoman Adams Statement on Shooting at WSSU
November 2, 2015
Washington, DC – Congresswoman Alma S. Adams (NC-12) today released the following statement after Anthony White Jr., a student at Winston-Salem State University, was shot and killed on the university's campus over the weekend:
"My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Anthony White Jr. and the entire Winston-Salem State University community. It saddens me that just one day after the university celebrated 123 years and the installation of its new chancellor, we are faced with such a tragic loss of life.
"Senseless murders and gun violence must stop. I will be closely monitoring this situation, as we await further details. It is my hope that the suspect will soon be apprehended and that justice will be served."
