Congresswoman Alma Adams’ Statement on the Death of City Councilman and Former Mayor of DC Marion Barry

WASHINGTON, DC— Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) made the following statement on the death of City Councilman and former Mayor of DC Marion Barry:

"After almost 40 years of public service, the people of Washington, DC have lost an icon. Today we mourn the death of Marion Barry. Marion Barry's life is a testament to public service and the indelible mark that one person can make in the lives of others. He made so many contributions to the residents of DC and he will be sorely missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Barry family and to the citizens of DC who mourn such a great loss."
