Congresswoman Alma Adams Votes Against House GOP’s Latest Attempt to Attack Women’s Healthcare
Washington, D.C.— Today, Congresswoman Alma S. Adams (NC-12) voted against H. Res. 933. This legislation would increase the funding available to the select panel assembled to investigate Planned Parenthood following the release of heavily edited videos from anti-abortion activists that allegedly showed Planned Parenthood profiting from the sale of fetal tissue collected from abortions by $800,000. An investigation by three House Committees has failed to produce any evidence that Planned Parenthood acted illegally or misused federal funds. The select panel has already received $790,000 in 2016.
“Instead of fulfilling our duties as a law-making body, radical Republicans in Congress would rather continue to waste taxpayer dollars on this ideological witch-hunt” said Congresswoman Adams.
“I am disappointed by the passage of this resolution. My Democratic colleagues and I will continue to fight against these destructive tactics to roll back women’s rights, deceive the American public, and waste taxpayer dollars.”
