Congresswoman Alma S. Adams Announces Federal Funding to Support Charlotte Infrastructure Expansion
Charlotte, NC—Today, Congresswoman Alma S. Adams (D-NC) is proud to announce two grants awarded to Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
Charlotte Douglas International Airport received two grants in the amounts of $3.75 million and $6.9 million by the U.S. Department of Transportation. With these awards, Charlotte Douglas International Airport will study the environmental impact of projects identified under its capital improvement plan, and also support the airport’s ongoing infrastructure improvements.
With this federal funding Charlotte Douglas International Airport will be able to provide increased flight service and more jobs here at home. Since Rep. Adams took office, Charlotte Douglas International Airport has received $152,495,642.00 in federal funding.
“I’m excited by our airport’s continued growth. This vital funding will help Charlotte Douglas International Airport to remain one of the fastest growing airports in the nation. Federal investments in Charlotte’s infrastructure are keys to continual growth of our economy and to keeping our people employed. I will continue to advocate for federal dollars for the City of Charlotte and for the entire 12th District,” said Rep. Adams.
