Congresswoman Alma S. Adams Responds to Butler High School Shooting

Charlotte, NC – Today, Congresswoman Adams released the below statement regarding this morning's shooting at Butler High School.

"I am heartbroken by this morning's shooting at Butler High School. Our community has once again been jolted by the loss of yet another young person to a senseless act of gun violence. As a grandmother and a mother, I cannot begin to imagine the grief caused by this horrible tragedy," said Congresswoman Adams. "My prayers are with the families of those impacted, the entire Butler High School family and CMS. Thank you to Matthew's police department and all first responders for your swift response. It is imperative for Congress and our state legislature to come together to address our gun violence epidemic. We can no longer stand by as our children and our families go to church, to the mall, and to school in fear."
