In Honor Of National Small Business Week, Congresswoman Adams To Host Series Of Events Throughout North Carolina’s 12th District
In honor of National Small Business Week, from Tuesday, May 5th through Thursday, May 7th Congresswoman Alma S. Adams (NC-12) will host a series of events throughout North Carolina's 12th Congressional District. Congresswoman Adams is a member of the House Small Business Committee.
National Small Business Week gained recognition in 1963 by President John F. Kennedy, who saw the valuable contributions small businesses were making to America's economic success. According to the U.S. Small Business Administration, there are more than 800,000 small businesses in North Carolina that employ more than 1.5 million North Carolinians.

Thomasville, NC - Tuesday, May 5th
8AM – Host roundtable with members of the Thomasville Chamber of Commerce
11:15AM - Tour woman-owned small business, Absolute Style Furniture in High Point and meet with small business owner
Charlotte, NC - Wednesday, May 6
8:30AM - Host small business symposium at Central Piedmont Community College
11:00AM - Tour minority-owned small business, Anointed Flooring, and meet with small business owner
Winston – Salem, NC - Thursday, May 7
10:00AM - Tour minority-owned small business, Body and Soul Arts store, and meet with small business owner
11:30AM - Visit minority-owned small business, Core Technology Molding Corporation, and meet with small business owner to discuss Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM)
