Rep. Adams Statement on the First Coronavirus Case in Mecklenburg County

CHARLOTTE - Congresswoman Alma S. Adams, Ph.D. (NC-12) released this statement following the presumptive positive test for coronavirus in Mecklenburg County:

"At least one presumptive case of the COVID-19 novel coronavirus has been reported in Mecklenburg County," said Congresswoman Alma Adams. "This is not a cause for panic, but it reinforces the need for continued vigilance and prevention. Continue to wash your hands and promote good hygiene. Continue to practice social distancing and avoid large crowds. If you are a member of a high-risk group, take additional precautions and follow the advice of your doctor. If you are a healthy, eligible blood donor, please consider making a donation to help us prepare for this emergency. Together, we can mitigate the effects of this outbreak and keep our family, friends, co-workers, and neighbors safe."
