Rep. Adams' Statement on House Republicans' Supplemental Aid Package to Israel
WASHINGTON, D.C. (February 6, 2024) -Congresswoman Alma S. Adams, PhD released the following statement following her vote against H.R. 7217 :
"Tonight’s proposal funds Israel’s offensive operations in Gaza, with no humanitarian assistance for the victims of war, nor military aid for our besieged Ukrainian allies. For four months, the House Majority named a comprehensive border bill as the price of American diplomacy and defense of the Western World, imperiling lives, demeaning American governance, and shaming our great nation. Then they walked away when the price was paid. I had no choice but to vote no."
