Rep. Adams’ Statement on Trump’s Fourth of July Event

Charlotte, NC - Congresswoman Alma S. Adams (NC-12) released the following statement ahead of President Trump's Independence Day rally on the National Mall:

"The Fourth of July should be a time for the country to come together and celebrate the values set forth in the Declaration of Independence, and the spirt upon which our nation was founded. Instead, President Trump has turned a holiday that should unite Americans into a political stunt at the taxpayers' expense. We cannot allow this political theatre to distract from our commitment to ensuring the rights enumerated in the Declaration are for everyone, regardless of their race, religion, or nation of birth."
