Tireless Champion of Progressive Causes Gives Every Constituent a Voice

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congresswoman Alma S. Adams, Ph.D. (D, NC-12) greeted her constituents one at a time on Wednesday at her second annual “Carolina Coffee” meet and greet event.

Demonstrating profound energy and sociability, Rep. Adams held court in her office for almost two hours for a line out the door and down the block, personally greeting each and every resident who came to her office.

“I am heartened by the more than 500 constituents who RSVPd and showed up in full force at our district offices yesterday,” said Rep. Adams. “They were passionate, engaging, friendly, and thoughtful. While I was not able to hold in-depth discussions during our meet and greet, I am thankful to all who attended and waited patiently in line to meet me and to speak with the members of my team.”

Rep. Adams participated in the Charlotte event after a whirlwind week that included several rounds of votes on the House floor, multiple nationally televised interviews, several recorded or delivered speeches, and committee hearings of the Agriculture Committee where they received testimony from Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack, and the Workforce Protections Subcommittee, for which she serves as ranking member.
