TOMORROW: Rep. Alma Adams Hosts the Third Annual HBCU STEAM Day on March 3 & 5 on Capitol Hill

March 2, 2020

Washington, D.C. – Tomorrow and Thursday, Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12), in conjunction with the Congressional Bipartisan Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Caucus and the Congressional Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) Caucus, will host the third annual HBCU STEAM Day of Action on Capitol Hill, to be held on March 3 & 5.

"I would not be in Congress today if not for the North Carolina A&T State University," said Congresswoman Adams, Founder and Co-Chair of the Bipartisan HBCU Caucus. "That is why HBCU STEAM Day is so important. It's a day when HBCUs come to Capitol Hill to advocate for more equitable federal resources – and they don't come alone. They are joined by industry leaders who have made a commitment to creating strategic and sustainable partnerships with HBCUs. I am proud to host the third annual HBCU STEAM Day of Action to make clear to all in Congress that HBCUs matter."

On Tuesday and Thursday during HBCU STEAM Day, HBCU and business leaders will meet with Republican and Democratic Members of Congress in the House and Senate. Over 50 HBCUs, organizations, technology companies, and industry leaders are sending representatives to participate in these days of advocacy.
