WASHINGTON, D.C. – Yesterday, Congresswoman Alma S. Adams, Ph.D. (NC-12), Dean of the North Carolina Democratic Congressional Delegation, introduced a resolution recognizing the Greensboro Four for their contributions to American History. Fellow North Carolina representatives Deborah Ross (NC-02), Don Davis (NC-01) and Valerie Foushee (NC-04) joined as original cosponsors of the resolution.

Adams, Ph.D. (NC-12), along with Ranking Member Robert C. “Bobby” Scott, Congressman Raúl Grijalva (AZ-07), Congresswoman Judy Chu (CA-28), and Congressman Greg Casar (TX-35), all members of the House Committee on Education and Workforce, led 52 House Members in submitting a comment letter applauding the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)’s proposed rule to protect workers from occupational exposure to extreme heat.

Cabarrus Health Alliance (CHA), the public health authority of Cabarrus County, received a $1,000,000 STOP School Violence Program grant from the U.S. Department of Justice. The grant enables CHA to reduce rates of suspension for students targeted for violence-related incidences including bullying and harassment in Kannapolis City Schools.
