CHARLOTTE – Congresswoman Alma S. Adams, Ph.D. (NC-12) has announced that the city of Kannapolis, North Carolina will receive a $1 million federal grant from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), toward cleaning up a “brownfield” (an EPA designation for an environmentally contaminated site). This funding is part of a national tranche of grants from the 2021 Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) passed under the Biden-Harris Administration.
