The Equity in Student Loan Relief Act is a bipartisan bill that would extend the temporary relief from student loan payments to Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL) borrowers who have been left behind.

Charlotte – During Black Maternal Health Week (April 11-17),Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) led a week of advocacy for Black moms. The overall maternal mortality rate in the United States rose sharply over the past three decades, and Black women are 3-4 times more likely to die in childbirth than their white counterparts. Adams' advocacy included interviews, editorials, radio appearances, and a Women's Symposium focused on Black Maternal Health during COVID-19.
Washington – Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) introduced the Kira Johnson Act as part of the Black Maternal Momnibus of 2020, a package of bills addressing the maternal health crisis. Today, on the last day of Black Maternal Health Week, she is urging her colleagues in the House to pass this legislation.

Eshoo (CA-18), Chair of the Committee on Energy & Commerce's Subcommittee on Health, led more than 50 colleagues in sending a letter to FDA Commissioner Stephen Hahn regarding the recent Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) to allow hydroxychloroquine sulfate (HCQ) and chloroquine phosphate (CQ) to be used as unapproved potential therapeutics for coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) patients.
