WASHINGTON, D.C. – Yesterday, Congresswoman Alma Adams [NC-12] co-sponsored H.R. 460, The Human Trafficking Detection Act, along with Republican Congressman Mark Walker of North Carolina.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Tonight, Congresswoman Alma Adams [NC-12] issued the following response to President Obama's 2015 State of the Union address.
WASHINGTON, DC— Today Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) was sworn in to serve a full 2 year term as the U.S. Representative of the 12th Congressional District of North Carolina. Congresswoman Adams won a special election and the general election in November 2014. She was sworn in on November 12, 2014 to finish the term of former Congressman Mel Watt and today was sworn in for a full 2 year term in the 114th Congress. Adams is the first woman to represent the district, the second African-American woman to represent North Carolina in the U.S.
