Local issues in the District will always be the primary concern of Congresswoman Adams. She takes her duties as the U.S. Representative of North Carolina's 12th Congressional District very seriously. Whether she is securing federal funding for district schools or health care institutions, or fighting for a living wage and affordable taxes for her constituents, she will always put the needs of the 12th District first, and be its advocate in the House of Representatives.

CHARLOTTE, NC— The Office of Congresswoman Alma S. Adams, Ph.D. is now accepting submissions for the 2025 Congressional Art Competition from high school students who live or attend school in North Carolina's 12th Congressional District.
Charlotte, N.C. ‒ Congresswoman Alma S. Adams, PhD (D-NC-12), will host an in-person town hall on Thursday, February 20, 2025. The town hall comes in response to an increase in constituent concerns about the Trump-Vance Administration’s unprecedented executive actions. The event will be free and open to the public.

The town hall was held in direct response to an increase in constituents contacting the Congresswoman’s office regarding their concerns about the Trump-Vance administration's unprecedented and overly broad executive actions.
Charlotte, NC- Today, Congresswoman Alma S. Adams, PhD, representing North Carolina’s 12th Congressional District, delivered her annual State of the District Address and took questions from constituents during a lengthy Q&A at the Goodwill Opportunity Campus in Charlotte. The address covered a range of topics from lowering the cost of living to workers’ rights and healthcare access as she reiterated her commitment to serving the working families of the 12th district during the 119th Congress.
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) released the below statement following the tragic plane crash in Washington:
“My heart is broken by the tragic accident in Washington last night, on a flightpath to DCA that I regularly use as part of my job, and carrying a crew based in Charlotte. I am praying for the victims on the airline, the Army helicopter, and their loved ones, and my heart and gratitude are with the first responders on the scene. That leaves no room for consideration of the President’s disgraceful comments.”
