CHARLOTTE — Below is a recap of Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12)'s actions in March to combat the health and economic effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
Charlotte – On Wednesday, March 25, Congresswoman Alma S. Adams, Ph.D. (NC-12) sent two bipartisan letters to President Trump in support of North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper's request for a "major disaster" declaration for the State of North Carolina as a result of the coronavirus outbreak. On the first letter, she is joined by Senators Richard Burr and Thom Tillis, and Representatives G. K. Butterfield (NC-01), George Holding (NC-02), Gregory F. Murphy, M.D. (NC-03), David E.
Charlotte – Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) will host a TeleTown Hall at 6:00 PM on Monday, March 23 to connect constituents with federal, state, and local programs that can provide help and support during the coronavirus pandemic. Additionally, she will provide an update on what legislators in Washington are doing to fight the health and economic effects of the coronavirus. Participants will be able to ask questions during a Q&A portion of the call.
UPDATE: Later in the day after the letter was sent, the SBA approved the declaration for North Carolina.
CHARLOTTE - Earlier today, Congresswoman Alma S. Adams, Ph.D. (NC-12) sent a letter to North Carolina House Speaker Tim Moore and Senate President Pro Tem Phil Berger urging them to call a special session to deal with the effects of the COVID-19 novel coronavirus. WASHINGTON - Today, Workforce Protections Subcommittee Chair Alma Adams (NC-12), Rep. Mark Takano (CA-41), and Rep. Susie Lee (NV-03) introduced the Emergency Family and Medical Leave Expansion Act to ensure workers have access to extended, job-protected leave to care for themselves and their families amid the COVID-19 epidemic.
