Charlotte – Congresswoman Alma S. COVID-19

Washington – Congresswoman Alma S. Adams, Ph.D. (NC-12) responded to the Trump Administration's decision to amend the major disaster order for North Carolina to include Individual Assistance limited to the Crisis Counseling Program. FEMA can also approve Individual Assistance through other vital programs which would help North Carolinians weather this pandemic, including Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA):

Washington – Congresswoman Alma S. Adams, Ph.D. (NC-12), Vice Chair of the House Committee on Agriculture and Chair of the House Education and Labor Committee's Subcommittee on Workforce Protections, and Congresswoman Diana DeGette (CO-01), Chair of the House Energy and Commerce's Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigation, sent a letter to President Trump concerning this week's executive order to activate the Defense Production Act to open meat processing plants.

Washington – Congresswoman Alma S. Adams, Ph.D. (NC-12), Vice Chair of the House Committee on Agriculture and Chair of the House Education and Labor Committee's Subcommittee on Workforce Protections, responded to President Trump's executive order invoking the Defense Production Act to force meat processing plants to stay open during COVID-19 without adequate protections for workers.
