Washington, DC – Congresswoman Alma S. Adams (NC-12) today announced the introduction of H.R.4857, the HBCU Innovation Fund Act. The legislation would create the HBCU Innovation Fund, which would be authorized in the Higher Education Act. Under the program, competitive grants would be made available to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) across the country to develop critical solutions to meet current and emerging needs.

Washington, DC – Congresswoman Alma S. Adams (NC-12) today announced three federal grants totaling $1,798,241 for the University of North Carolina Charlotte (UNCC). The federal funding was allocated through the National Science Foundation (NSF) and will be used to carry out a research project to study the development of oat fiber, to fund research into training workers for the advanced manufacturing engineering industry, and to fund student travel to an international research conference in Germany.
