Washington, D.C.—Today, Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) sent a letter to Congressman Duncan Hunter (CA-50) expressing her strong opposition and disappointment to the removal of the artwork of Mr. David Pulphus, the high school artist and winner of Missouri's 1st District Congressional Art Competition, from the exhibit in the U.S. Capitol.

"I am appalled by the behavior of extremist Congressional Republicans who would rather push an ideological agenda than tackle the issues facing our nation" said Congresswoman Adams.

Charlotte, NC--Congresswoman Alma Adams is excited to announce the 2016 winners of the Congressional App Challenge (CAC) from North Carolina’s 12th District. Winning first place is Lynette Bright of Greensboro Middle College; second place, Anitra Griffin of West Charlotte High School; and third place, Ahmad Martin of the Middle College at GTCC-Greensboro. Their winning submissions, selected by a panel of judges from the community, will be featured on a display in the U.S. Capitol building and on the CAC website.

Washington, D.C.—Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) released the following statement regarding the passage of the FY2017 Continuing Resolution:

“Today I voted for a short-term continuing resolution that will fund our nation’s government until April 28, 2017” said Congresswoman Adams. “I am disappointed this Republican led Congress has once again failed the American people by not putting forth a long term budget, but there was too much at stake not to support this measure.

FUNDING LEVEL
The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) scores a Continuing Resolution slightly above the Budget Control Act sequester cap for FY2017. The CR addresses the matter with an across-the-board cut of 0.19% for all accounts, defense and non-defense.

These schools play an integral role in educating minority and first time college students while providing opportunities for the most underserved communities.
