CHARLOTTE – Today, Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) announced over $11 million for community projects in Charlotte and Mecklenburg County. Adams secured funding for these projects as part of the Fiscal Year 2022 (FY22) Community Project Funding requests that were included in the omnibus appropriations bill signed into law by President Biden this week.

Senators Jeff Merkley (D-OR) and Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced the introduction of the Maternal and Child Health Stillbirth Prevention Act of 2022.The legislation was introduced in the United States House of Representatives today, with a companion bill being introduced in the Senate tomorrow.

Deborah Ross (D-NC) and Nikema Williams (D-GA), introduced the Clean Slate Through Consolidation Act, a bill to remove default records from the credit history of federal student loan borrowers who have consolidated their defaulted loan. This legislation is in partnership with Rep. Williams' Student Loan Rehabilitation and Credit Score Improvement Act and Rep.
